As well as having advanced clinical expertise all our staff have been carefully selected for their high levels of consultation and communication skills.

We have extensive experience in the Primary Care sector and provide a refined service that is patient focussed and aims to satisfy the increasing patient demand for fast access to quality care whilst, taking into account the commercial pressures and budgetary targets of Primary Care provision.

We have the expertise and the experience of working with other providers to compliment and enhance Primary Care pathways of care.

Primary Care Physiotherapy

Anatomie Primary Care physiotherapy can be carried out from a standard consulting room and is designed to provide the maximum service flexibility.

We offer a comprehensive primary care musculoskeletal management service which can comfortably operate within doctors surgeries, from one of our modern fully equipped clinics or of required we can utilise a combination of the both.

The service is available throughout the year and can include evening and weekend clinics.
CONSULTA

Our provision audits indicate that a practice of 6,000 patients might expect to refer about 30 referrals per month, requiring about 4/5 sessions per week.

To ensure continuity of care and to foster good working relationships with referrers our physiotherapists are located to and remain in one location.

The service is fully supported and our team of experienced senior physiotherapists are available to cover any staff absences due to holiday or sickness should they occur.

We maintain a maximum waiting time of no more than two weeks from the date of referral.

Evidence indicates that early intervention has many benefits for the patient in terms of outcome and also has economic benefits for the practice as problems had less time to become complex and require less treatment.

Physiotherapy Benefits All

Physiotherapy can be cost effective and improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.

It is well documented that up to 90% of patients referred to Orthopedic outpatients do not require surgery. Physiotherapy reduces the pressure on these departments and can help the patient's journey by reducing the waiting time from referral to treatment.

THIGHSTR
Many patients referred to Rheumatology Departments often have non-inflammatory joint or soft tissue problems that also can be successfully managed by physiotherapy intervention in Primary Care.

NHS Pilot studies have shown that Physiotherapy in the primary care setting can reduce costs, improve patient access and reduce the numbers of review appointments in secondary care.

Patients access anatomie physiotherapy via their referring GP who simply completes a referral pro-forma. A senior member of the anatomie physiotherapy team, all of which have the diagnostic experience and advanced clinical assessment skills act effectively to ensure that the patient is placed on the correct care pathway.

Anatomie can also provide ultrasound diagnostic imaging as an aid to diagnosis and also joint injection in conjunction with the GP.

Anatomie Physio-Line

Anatomie Physio-Line provides fast access to physiotherapy telephone advice (on average patients are called back in less than 24 hours).

Following GP referral, patients have the option to discuss their problem with a specially trained Chartered Physiotherapist at a pre-booked telephone appointment. An assessment is made using questions designed to establish a provisional diagnosis and screen any non-MSK conditions. Advice is given to the patient, and if appropriate supplemented with education and information.

The information taken at the telephone consultation is passed over to the practice-based physiotherapist, saving time at the initial face-to-face consultation as well as facilitating early self-management.

Between 40% and 80% of patients accessing Physio-Line will progress to Primary Care Based Physiotherapy. However, the service serves both patient and the referrer’s needs well, with a substantial minority of patients avoiding unnecessary face to face consultations thus valuable saving time and resources.

GP Seminars

We offer free seminars for GP's to further develop their range and depth of 'hand-on' skills in musculoskeletal assessment and examination.

These seminars usually take place within individual GP surgeries, typically over the lunchtime period and cover the main injuries and conditions encountered in the Primary Care setting.

They are open to all GPs regardless of whether we are providing physiotherapy services at the time. If you require any further information please give
us a call.
